Last Looks, #40
Original air date: April 12, 2004
The scoop: Andy hires a new housekeeper; Ephram tries to get Madison out of his head; Bright struggles with questions about his future.

What's Up With Amy: Amy's been meeting regularly with her Aunt Linda for methods of relaxation. She's gotten to the point where Linda feels she can go off the Zoloft but Amy convinces her that she's not ready, until she runs into Colin's mother at the drugstore (who happens to be picking up her prescription for Paxil). Colin's mom seems distracted and sad and after talking with her for a few minutes Amy walks outside and throws her prescription for Zoloft into the garbage with a smile of satisfaction on her face.

What's Up With Ephram: After his and Madison's break up, Ephram can think of nothing but her. The Brown's new housekeeper makes it worse. She's an old, uptight bore whom Delia can't stand. Feeling guilty for taking Madison away from his sister, Ephram visits Madison and convinces her to come back to work for them because Delia's so unhappy. Although Andy's not happy about it they tell him that they'll be able to maintain a completely professional relationship for Delia's sake. Things go fairly smooth until Madison receives a call from Jay regarding their band practice and Ephram's convinced she's started seeing him again. The two of them blow up at the dinner table, making Andy basically say I-told-you-so. Delia looks on, upset. Later, Delia tells Madison that she's her best friend and she loves her but that Ephram's her brother and she can't stand seeing him so sad. She tells Madison that she has to let her go and that's the end of Madison's career as the Brown's housekeeper. Later, Ephram has a heart to heart with Andy about his feelings and realizes it's time to say goodbye to Madison for good. He goes to her apartment to tell her. Both of them are emotional, knowing they won't be seeing each other again. Ephram kisses her good-bye and drives away.

What's Up With Andy: Andy and Harold still aren't talking, but after talking to Nina about it Andy attempts to rekindle their like/hate relationship when they run into each other at the bar one night. To Andy's surprise and dismay, Harold has no intention of letting go of his anger. He feels Andy betrayed their friendship by not telling him about Amy's visit and he continues to refuse to have anything to do with Andy. Meanwhile, Andy realizes how difficult Ephram's break-up with Madison is for him and he does his best to help him with it.

What's Up With Bright: After Bright doesn't make it into Notre Dame, the school he wanted the most, he figures he'll have to settle on his second choice school, A&M. When he finds out he was declined from that school as well he loses it after listening to Ephram's constant bantering about Madison. Feeling badly Ephram talks to Bright the next day and convinces him to make an appointment with the dean of A&M to try again to get in. Harold thinks Bright's plan to visit the dean is ridiculous and won't do any good, which frustrates Bright even more. After he visits the dean and doesn't change his decision Bright sees that his dad has been waiting for him outside the office. He tells Bright that whatever it is that he's supposed to do will come to him and that he's never been prouder of his son. With that Bright looks happier than he has in a long time.
