The scoop: Ephram tries to ignore Madison in an effort to play hard-to-get; Amy meets
Tommy Callahan; Linda reveals her secret to Andy.
What's up with Ephram: Bright convinces Ephram that the best
way to get Madison interested in him is if he gets her to believe he's uninterested to her. Later, at home Madison gets a
call and he strains to hear what she and Jay are arguing about. He attempts to pretend he didn't hear - or didn't care enough
to listen - when she returns from her call. Afterward, Madison is feeling down and Ephram wants her to feel better. He tells
Delia to go give her some compliments. Madison tells Delia that the reason she's unhappy is because she and Jay broke up.
Delia invites Madison to hang out with her and her friends at her karaoke slumber party that night. To Ephram's dismay, Madison
agrees. During Delia's party, Ephram sees Madison sitting outside on the porch by herself and can't resist going to her. Madison
tells him that Jay suspected she has feelings for somebody else and she admits that she does. She goes on to describe this
guy and before long Ephram realizes that it's him she's describing. He tells her that if her gut is telling her to pursue
this guy than she should listen to her instinct. She agrees and the two kiss. The next morning Ephram's lounging on his bed
when Madison enters his room. He's expecting her to tell him that last night never should have happened and she sort of does
tell him thatbut she also can't resist him and kisses him again.
What's up with Amy: Amy's at a pharmacy getting
her anti-depression medication when she meets Tommy who works behind the counter. He's a bit cocky but he makes her smile
slightly. Later, Laynie tells her that Tommy just got out of rehab for drug addiction. The next night she and Laynie are at
a party and see Tommy. He approaches Amy and convinces her to leave the party with him. The two spend the rest of the night
talking and getting to know each other. She finds out that Tommy wasn't really addicted to drugs but that he had a drinking
problem and is now clean. It seems as though Amy feels that this boy may actually understand her. She gets home in the early
morning hours and Tommy walks her up to the door. He gives her a light kiss and tells her that he'll be seeing her. She says
"yes" and watches him walk away with a soft smile and a look of awe in her eyes.
What's up with Linda: When
Linda begins receiving lavish gifts from Andy at her and Harold's office, she tells Harold that she has no intention of responding.
Harold fully agrees with her until the balloons arrive. Then he convinces Linda that in order to put an end to Andy's advances,
she needs to deal with him. She barges into Andy's office and lies, telling him that she doesn't want a relationship with
him because she's not attracted to him. After Harold's wife gets him thinking about why Linda doesn't want to pursue a relationship
with Andy, he does some investigating and finds out that his sister is infected with H.I.V. He confronts her and explains
to her that she needs to be honest to Andy about why she's been rejecting him. He tells her that Andy will be able to make
up his own mind about how far he wants their relationship to go.
What's up with Andy: Andy's convinced that
he and Linda share feelings for each other and is hoping and expecting to get a phone call from her after sending 300 red
roses and several bunches of balloons. When she rebuffs him he's disappointed and confused. Meanwhile, he's working to help
one of his patients get rid of a studder, just long enough so that he can tell the girl he loves how he feels before she walks
out of his life. Since he doesn't studder while he sings, Andy suggests he sing his feeling to the girl. He does, but unfortunately
the girl doesn't share his feelings. Andy seems dejected until his patient tells him that he's okay because all he wanted
was to know that he did everything he could to have a relationship with her. With that Andy sits in front of Linda's house
and serenades her. After he finishes his song she tells him about the village she stayed at while in the Congo. One night
the village was attacked and most of the villagers were killed. She found a small boy who was bleeding heavily and who was
abandoned by his family because he had AIDS. She held the boy until he passed away. Later on she noticed a large gash in her
arm. Andy realizes what Linda is telling him and he doesn't know what to say; so the two of them sit together in silence.
